Size
The Bostitch CAP1512-OF is a small compressor with a 1.2 gallon tank. It is highly portable with a bright yellow case and black tank. It has rubberized feet to keep it stable when you are using it, even on slick surfaces. It weighs about 24 pounds, so it can easily be carried with one hand by both men and women. The control panel has a roll cage to keep it protected from damage from falls.
Performance
This compressor has excellent performance for its size. With a maximum pressure of 150 PSI, it delivers 2.8 SCFM at 90 PSI. There are many finishing tools that will work with this amount of air flow. The horsepower peaks at 2.0, but normally runs at 1.5 horsepower. You will easily be able to start the machine as it only needs 12 amps.
One of the best features of this Bostitch compressor is that it has an LED light that lets you know when it's ready to go. This way you will not have any problems with misfires or prematurely attempting to use.

Noise Level
This may be the only area where the Bostich CAP1512-OF is not above average. Registering at about 89 decibels, the compressor is only average when it comes to how loud it is. Who It's For
This compressor is great for home use as well as some professionals. It makes for a good choice for newbies who will mainly be using it for small projects. I would not recommend it for a professional contractor as their primary compressor but it's perfect as a back up. There is a time delay of about 45 seconds for the compressor to get up to speed. It also slows down after a few uses, so it you are working under a tight deadline, it may slow you down. If you need a larger tank for continuous operation, you may want to consider the Porter-Cable C2002.
